In the meantime, Nag Ashwin told Deadline that while Kalki 2898 AD is supposed to recount portions of the Mahabharata’s events in the year 3102 BC, it “does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus.” He continued, “We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn’t know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process” .
