Producer Aswini Dutt Declines Pawan Kalyan’s Proposal: Aswini Dutt is enjoying the triumph of Kalki 2898 AD, his most recent masterpiece. His happiness is being expressed through interviews he is doing for different media outlets. In a recent interview, he disclosed that during a meeting between Telugu producers and Pawan Kalyan, the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister, PK proposed a ticket pricing model for Kalki 2898 AD that would be priced between ₹1000 and ₹1500 in North India.
They abandoned the concept, according to Aswini Dutt, because they believed the Telugu states would not accept it. Regarding such exorbitant rates, tickets in places like Delhi and Mumbai might cost up to ₹2000, ₹1500, or even more, but they are only available at specific multiplexes that provide ambiance, luxury, and experiences.
But the state of the theaters in the Telugu states, particularly in Andhra, is bad. No matter who stars in the film or who directed it, no one will pay these kinds of sums of money. If the prices were that expensive, even movie buffs would quit going. Audiences are already being driven to pirated websites or waiting for OTT releases by the present ticket rates, which are ₹300. The pricing range of ₹1000–₹1500 is unsustainable, even for the best multiplexes in Hyderabad.(Producer Aswini Dutt Declines Pawan Kalyan’s Proposal)
Even if Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has a strong passion for movies, he must realize that movies used to be the least expensive kind of entertainment. To attract more producers to invest in large-scale event films, a fair price increase is required, not ₹1000–₹1500 per ticket.
For high-budget movies like Kalki 2898 AD, ticket increases might be required, but even for epic movies, Pawan Kalyan’s suggested costs will keep people out of theaters.
